Steven Thorn, owner of Thorn Electric, had a desire to one day become a successful business owner.
He worked hard to obtain his electrical license by attending NJATC for 5 years thus becoming a Journeyman in 2001. He continued his electrical education while working with electrical companies like IK Electric, Stone and Webster, until he acquired his Master Electrical Licenses.
To become qualified in other facets of his electrical career, he took his experience and education to the oil fields. He worked for England Oil Company, until he begin to think of his one desire again - his own business.
After 13 years, Steven finally decided it was time to open his own electrical company. He wanted more time to be around his family and serve his community. After all, struggling the past several years to educate himself and hold down a full time job, meant time away from his family. It was a major decision for Steven to start his own business but one that he has not regretted.
Now his family is a big part of the business. There are 3 sons - Brandon (11), Bradley(10), and Lucas(5), that maybe a little too young now but in the near future will be helping in the business. Another family member employed by Thorn Electric is Shane, who is also receiving his master electrician license.
